Are you a publisher using Google Analytics?


Then it’s time to make your data public to agencies and users.

As more local publisher start using GA data that is dramatically higher than what Netview is reporting on it’s panel based methodology I wouldn’t be alone in sometimes questioning some of the user data supplied.

This would clear this up – making the key numbers public. And it would add a layer of transperency that is probably required.

  1. Definitlely astep in the right direction. I think the only piece missing is a layer to make sure publishers aren’t gaming the analytics by tagging up content that doesn’t belong to them.

    In Nielsen, there is a human layer that actually accepts or rejects sites into the ranking which while a little clumsy is still very effective at policing this behaviour.
